Hi, this is my first time creating blended terrain, I know it's not that good, so that's why I would like to take in some suggestions and help!

What were you trying to make?
If you're going to present a piece, at least remove the grid first.
If you're asking about terrain, you haven't done anything related to terrain, all I see is basic isom with sprites bunched up in two areas. I would suggest you experiment with tiles and get a clear outcome of what you want. Sprites are a very small portion to making terrain.

Hmm.. I didn't know isom didn't count as terrain, what was blizzard thinking calling that terrain?
Just keep playing around with terrain, look at
good examples of terrain and first be able to mimic those then you will be able to make your own (it will take some imagination oh no).

Might I suggest something? Whenever you try to make any kind of terrain, always try to have some sort of natural feel or realism to the piece. Mixing it up with sprites and corners will really help (keep it seemingly random).

Oh, and I also would like to know how could buildings be created terrain wise?

To be honest, your work just doesn't seem natural (generally when I think of terrain, I don't think of man-made). I would try to just avoid large squares, just by changing edges to be curved adds so much more to realism. I don't think I have any examples off the top of my head, but you could look through
Falkoner's Terrain Compilation for help. Something I like to do, is look at real life situations and outline that into my map, it doesn't get more natural than real natural.

something like this? They are different for each tileset, so you'd have to play around with some different cliffs for ice.

When you say unnatural, do you mean how the objects and terrain are placed, for example, how the ramp is surrounded by trees?

I like your snow terrain, and I'd use in a map if I was working in that tileset.

And how often do you come across nice little rectangles in nature? From my experiences, it's usually quite random. Though, it also does depend on what kind of terrain you want to make (obviously in a city you will have rectangles or less variability).

Yep, that was my first attempt on the building. Also, for the blocky sections, I wanted to make it like a straight line going through each level, but I could not find it. It could be because I wasn't taking enough time on it.
The first blend is supposed to be a hill, but just a bit hard to see. I wanted to make a slope kind of effect on the hill, but I guess it didn't turn out that great.

If you want to get a hill effect, you could try making some sort of half height cliffs with ramps all around it. I don't think I've ever seen a good hill--that is, one that just
looks like the terrain in the middle is higher than the surrounding.

I think sprites that are curving towards a center that is going up would make it look more like a hill

You know, I remember my first time with terrain too, it was 9:30 pm....
Yeah, try using less sprites and more variation, you'd also want to get a good idea of just what you're making. In real life you rarely find water like that so close to ice, especially with a weird dirt thing and then a whack of snow.

I removed it, however, when I update the site, I'll have a skin similar to the one on it now, and music that you can toggle on
